When SharpComm was originally incorporated in 1995 the primary focus was on providing sustainment services. SharpComm has an extensive on site inventory to assist in expeditious restoration of failed parts or systems. Part of the inventory includes a back up system that can be installed in short order if required. SharpComm's normal sustainment package includes repair or replacing all failed hardware. Software problems are diagnosed and cleared locally or coordinated with manufacturer tier support for resolution. Any combination of software or hardware coverage can be negotiated on a case by case basis. The normal response time for major failures is within 4 hours and for minor failures 24 hours. SharpComm retains a fleet of service vehicles that are stocked with critical parts to help reduce system downtime. When a system encounters a performance problem a call is place to dispatch and an engineer is immediately assigned. Initially the engineer will access the system remotely and attempt to clear the problem. If the problem cannot be cleared remotely then an attempt is made to determine the hardware cause of failure and a technician is dispatched to replace the components. Once the problem has been rectified all information is recorded by SharpComm to make sure that an accurate history file is maintained for the site.
