E911 SolutionsProviding E911 caller information is not only valuable for your employees but also will help your company comply with the recent laws and regulations being implemented. Most states have specific compliance requirements and as users become more mobile using the office communications E911 caller identification will become more important. If E911 is an issue for your company please contact SharpComm for assistance in the design, implementation and support for your E911 requirements. Enhanced 911 services provides for an Automatic Location Identification (ALI record) based upon the Calling Line Information Display which is sent to the local Public Safety Answering Position (PSAP) position to be matched in the PSAP data base for the exact location of the caller. In a simple environment like a residence the phone number and address are matched to the PSAP data base and since there is no mobility have a static location. In an enterprise environment with single systems serving campuses or multiple locations, even across state lines, and with VoIP users accessing the system from a variety of locations a static location database is not possible. In the traditional office location with a hard wired telephone the local PSAP can be updated to provide either an exact Emergency Caller Location (office number) or an Emergency Response Location (floor number or street address). In a dispersed system where the core communication server supports several remote locations or with mobile workers using VoIP a dynamic discovery must be deployed to provide the callers location. The process for dynamic discovery must include the exact location of the caller and a process for updating the PSAP database in real time. SharpComm can design a system that will provide caller location for E911 calls for both static (stationary callers) and dynamic (mobile callers). The solution identifies the caller's location using an internal location information service through a subnet mapping technique. Real-time updates are provided by the ALI manager. |
